and then stole a pickup truck.... perez is suspected of killing 31-year old mohammad robinson in north las vegas this past week. police describe perez as armed and dangerous.. due to his history of violence.... fox 5's vince sapienza has more as police scramble to find him.. "we just had a truck jacked, and they said oh well we just lost a suspect, and we said you lost a suspect." the answer to that is yes. and that suspect is 25-year old alonso perez. a 6-3 200 pound hispanic man who was last seen wearing a #21 dallas cowboys jersey. he also has a three inch "air jordan" tatoo on his neck. the prime suspect in a homicide that resulted in the death of mohammad robinson last weekend in north las vegas. police say they arrested perez at 10 a-m friday. only to have him break free at their detective bureau near the north las vegas airport. "when the detectives stepped out, alonso broke out of the handcuffs and then escaped

"i saw the truck take off out of our front lot and i knew it was stolen, because i heard words someone is stealing our truck." vincent linke... the branch manager... said one of his technicians was loading a running truck.. and it's there where perez found his opportunity. "the only communication between that gentleman and my technician, was he looked through the window and the guy gave a what you want some trouble." linke tells me all his vehicles are equipped with g- p-s tracking. so he went online to find his truck. "got up to 80 miles per hour before he hit craig road, went all the way to ann road." "and ditched our tracking device at the lowes shopping center." "this is not something that happens hardly ever, at least in the time that i have been here, i don't ever recall an

i asked police if security was an issue and if the handcuffs perez broke were faulty. i was told they will be looking into that.. but for now.. there focus is finding perez. "we have a dangerous suspect on the loose here in the valley and we urge the public if you do come in contact with him take a step back and call local law enforcement so that we can come out." police tell fox-5 it's more likely that someone who is not a police into perez before authorities... so if you do see him.. do not confront him.. and call the police... or crimestoppers.. at 702-385-55-55 unfortunately... this isn't the first time this has happened in the valley. back in april.... a different suspect was in police custody, but escaped from metro's northeast area command. he was on the run for more than two weeks. officers arrested ivan mayoral for stealing a car... during booking....he got

(kamilah willingham, rape victim): "even if the police believe you, even if the prosecutors believe you, even against all odds the jurors believe you, at the end of the day that can all be undermined by a judge like aaron persky whose objectivity is clouded by rape culture." persky is currently set to serve until 20-23.. but some say thats too long. turner will be on probation for the next three years... and will have to

"he did have some negative contributions toward the community, he also positive things and his views evolved over time so i'm not quite sure what to think about that." university president michael schill says the campus currently lacks diversity.. so he is trying to recruit more african-american students... by making them feel included. he says the name change is the first step in the right direction. with rising tensions between police and the community.. officers are trying to improve relations with those they serve.. but in philadelphia... one police officer

"we just had a truck jacked, and they said oh well we just lost a suspect, and we said you lost a suspect." the answer to
7:02 am
is 25-year old alonso perez. a 6-3 200 pound hispanic man who was last seen wearing a #21 dallas cowboys jersey. he also has a three inch "air jordan" tatoo on his neck. the prime suspect in a homicide that resulted in the death of mohammad robinson last weekend in north las vegas. police say they arrested perez at 10 a-m friday. only to have him break free at their detective bureau near the north las vegas airport. "when the detectives stepped out, alonso broke out of the handcuffs and then escaped out of the building." police say alonso fled west. where he stole a white 2016 ford f- 250 pickup truck.. just like this one. the truck belongs to sunbelt rentals... a business less than a 100 yards away. "i saw the truck take off out of our front lot and i knew it was stolen, because i heard words someone is stealing our truck." vincent linke... the

"the only communication between that gentleman and my technician, was he looked through the window and the guy gave a what you want some trouble." linke tells me all his vehicles are equipped with g- p-s tracking. so he went online to find his truck. "got up to 80 miles per hour before he hit craig road, went all the way to ann road." "and ditched our tracking device at the lowes shopping center." "this is not something that happens hardly ever the time that i have been here, i don't ever recall an incident like this." i asked police if security was an issue and if the handcuffs perez broke were faulty. i was told they will be looking into that.. but for now.. there focus is finding perez. "we have a dangerous suspect on the loose here in the valley and we urge the public if you do come in contact with him take a step back and call local law enforcement so that we can come out." police tell fox-5
7:04 am
that someone who is not a police officer will run into perez before authorities... so if you do see him.. do not confront him.. and call the police... or crimestoppers.. at 702-385-55-55 unfortunately... this isn't the first time this has happened in the valley. back in april.... a different suspect was in police custody, but escaped from metro's northeast area command. he was on the run for more than two weeks. officers arrested ivan mayoral for stealing a car... during booking....he got out of his handcuffs, walked out of the interview room, and left the building... no one noticed police re- arrested mayoral sixteen days later. in national news.. convicted rapist brock turner has only been out of jail for one day.. and protestors have already shown up outside of his home. the former stanford swimmer made headlines.. after recieving only a 6-month

police brutality... now police are counter- protesting.. saying if he doesn't stand.. they won't protect people at 49er's games. officers say kaepernick is making the stadium a "hostile work environment".. noting that they should work without fear of harassment... but critics say if the police back down.. they are only making kaepernick's silent protest stronger. since receiving national attention.. kaepernick has said he will not only sit.. but he will also donate to his cause. the quarterback says he will donate one million dollars to groups that help people affected by racial injustice and police brutality. he also addressed claims that he is un- american.. saying he realizes the military fights for his freedoms.. but he notes one of his freedoms-- is to take a seat. president obama has left for china.. heading to his final g-20 summit. during this year's summit.. the global economy is expected to be the main topic. but.. obama is set to meet with

"david o' mackey academy" has already laid-off over a dozen teachers because their funding hasn't come in. "i feel awful for them because now they no longer have a place for their kids, you know. where we should have this school choice but also now their unemployed and a lot of them did not have time to go get another employment job, especially as a teacher." school officials

" he walks back into this sewar area for about a minute and thats when i started recording to see what was gonna happen next." donner doesn't see this every day, so he had a number of concerns... " you have to pass a school everytime you exit this community, so that number 1, and number 2 what is this guy doing?"" bridge " i don't know the answer to that... what i do know is that walking around in public in skimpy underwear, while frowned upon socially... isn't actually illegal... " although not seen on many men, it is legal" so where do we draw the line for indecent exposure? well... there are body parts you can't show in public. police say its better safe than sorry... give them a phone call " we may come out, it may not be criminal in nature, however we will come out there" as for donner... he's hoping this wanna be victoria's secret model... stays away from his neighborhood... " he had no regard for any kids or people walking their dogs out here, its all in public" you can wear almost anything on public property but it can turn criminal once you step foot on private property. a first offense for indecent exposure is a gross misdemeanor... and a second can be a felony. in national news this morning.. to protect the community from zika.. south carolina officials acted prematurely.. spraying a strong pesticide throughout the state.. but the chemical used to control mosquitos has accidentally killing millions of honeybees. bee owners around the state are furious..
